If you are a diabetic patient, you must have asked this question to yourself- what do I eat in the breakfast? A healthy breakfast gives a lot of energy to the body to perform tasks. Generally, sugar is considered as a source of energy, but what happen when you get a sugar-free breakfast to eat?
There are many sugar-free products available in the market. You can use a sugar-free and low-calorie food product for breakfast. You can try whole-meal sugar-free breakfast muffins available in the stores or if you are a good cook, you can make it at home.
The recipe for sugar-free breakfast muffin takes 30 minutes. Ingredients for this are:
- 200gm whole-meal flour
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 50gm oats
- 10gm granulated sweetener (sugar free)
- 1 egg
- 100ml skimmed milk
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 2 mashed bananas
- 150gm fresh blueberries
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Method:
- Preheat your oven at 180 Celsius.
- Grease the muffin tin with light oil or butter.
- Take a bowl and put flour, baking soda, oats and sweetener together.
- Add mashed bananas in a separate container and then crack egg into it and stir.
- Add vanilla essence, milk and honey and beat the mixture for a minute.
- Sieve the flour mixture to avoid lumps. Oats and bran will remain in the sieve, you can put them on the top, later.
- Mix this with milk mixture slowly, without leaving any dry flour residue.
- Add the blueberries and then fill the muffin tin with the mixture.
- Bake this for next 20 minutes. To check if the muffin is baked, check by piercing it with a knife straight at the centre.
- Voila! Yummy sugar-free breakfast muffin is ready to eat.
How can you cut down sugar?
You need to avoid all sugar containing foods such as soft drinks, chocolates, pastries, cookies, etc. Try to eat low calorie food that does not contain sugar or have used sugar-free products- sugar free desserts, oats, cereals, etc. You can start your day with healthy Sugar-Free Breakfast by adding some fruits in yoghurt.
A healthy diet is a need of every family. Especially women, who are facing type 2 diabetes symptoms can escape or prevent themselves from disease by eating healthy and sugar-free meal in the breakfast.
